COURSE DESCRIPTION |
: |
This course describes the organization of peripheral health units designated to help enhance the health conditions of the rural population. This includes the role, functions and responsibilities of Community Health Nurse in serving the people of rural areas. Provides alternative learning experiences: independent and group study, development of special clinical competencies, focusing on a variety of special interest topics or topics of an interdepartmental nature within the broad category of community/public health nursing areas. |

GENERAL OBJECTIVES |

1. Understand the
concepts of Community Health Nursing (CHN) 2. Internalize
and apply the required legal, ethical and moral obligations and
responsibility of CHN. 3.
Understand fully well the organizational structure of the Department of
Health (DOH) and other national
organizations providing health services. 4. Enhancement of
student knowledge on addressing community health problems. 5.
Encourage active participation and cooperation in the activities and programs
specifically related to health. 6. Graduate
student to function in advanced CHN practice roles. |
