COURSE DESCRIPTION |
: |
The course focuses on the
development and the utilization of action research through a participatory
approach. It centers on the survey of primary health care status of the
people in the community, its recommendation of appropriate intervention to
the issues and problems identified. It also teaches how intra and extra linkaging and networking among the different sectors of
the community working together primarily for the promotion of health and
prevention of diseases. The COPAR model, a strategy for community development
organization, is being used in the study. |

GENERAL OBJECTIVES |

1. To formulate a
research instrument to be used in the survey of primary health care situation
in the community through the participatory approach. 2. Be able to
match the identify issues and problems with appropriate interventions. 3. Identify the
different stakeholders concerned on the primary health care of the people and
know the mechanics of linkaging and networking. 4. Appreciate the
value of collaboration. |
