COURSE DESCRIPTION |

This course deals with the study of the complete stages of human development. It discusses on the theories of human development that helps students understand the characteristics of psychological changes and also the principles and the internal workings underlying these changes. |

GENERAL OBJECTIVES |
: |

1. Understand the principles of human development; 2. Gain better insights from the theories of human development in
understanding the psychological constitution of the child’s
personality; 3. Apply the knowledge learned in human development, its principles and
theories in parenting process, especially to the married students enrolled in
this course, and help advocate responsible parenting more particularly in
promoting and supporting the physical, emotional, social and intellectual
development of the child; 4. Gain better understanding about parenting, that it is specifically
raising and nurturing the child rather than the biological relationship
between a parent and the child. |
